Pi Tau Sigma (PTS), the International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), each year, jointly offer three prestigious awards to recognize outstanding individuals for achievements in Mechanical Engineering. These awards are the Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal Award, the Gustus L. Larson Memorial Award, and the Charles Russ Richards Memorial Award. This year's award recipients for the three awards are:

  • Dr. Dr. Nenad K. Miljkovic from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ,   2018 Gold Medal Award
  • Dr. Kripa K. Varanasi from Massachusetts Institute of Technology,  2018 Gustus L. Larson Award
  • Dr. Kon-Well Wang from the University of Michigan  2018 Charles Russ Richards Award 

The three nominees will be recognized at the Members and Students Luncheon on Sunday, November 11, 2018 during the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center/Omni William Penn Hotel, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
