The 2020 PTS-ASME Awards are Announced

Three prestigious awards to recognize outstanding individuals for achievements in Mechanical Engineering

Pi Tau Sigma , the International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), each year, jointly offer three prestigious awards to recognize outstanding individuals for achievements in Mechanical Engineering. These awards are the Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal Award, the Gustus L. Larson Memorial Award, and the Charles Russ Richards Memorial Award. The winners for the 2020 awards for each category are shown below:


GOLD MEDAL AWARD

In 1938, Pi Tau Sigma and ASME established the Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal to be awarded to the young engineering graduate who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in mechanical engineering within ten years of graduation.

2020 AwardeeDr. David Kwabi, University of Michigan.
Dr. Kwabi will be recognized on Monday November 16, 2020 during the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE), at the Oregon Convention Center, in Portland, Oregon.


GUSTUS L. LARSON MEMORIAL AWARD

In 1973, Pi Tau Sigma and ASME established the Gustus L. Larson Memorial Award to honor engineering graduates who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in mechanical engineering within ten to twenty years following graduation

Dr. Brazilevs' award presentation will be announced at a later date


CHARLES RUSS RICHARDS MEMORIAL AWARD

In 1944, the Charles Russ Richards Award was established as a joint award of Pi Tau Sigma and ASME to recognize outstanding achievement in mechanical engineering for twenty years or more following graduation.
