South Florida Alpha Gamma

In December 1989, faculty and students at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida submitted a petition to Pi Tau Sigma for a charter. Glen Besterfield worked diligently in getting the petition process. Thirty-five students and nine faculty members endorsed the petition. In addition, the petition included letters of support from Departmental Chairman W. A. Smith, Dean M. G. Kovac, and Associate Dean, M. W. Anderson.

On March 11 1991, South Florida Alpha Gamma was officially installed by President, Dr. James Welty, Eastern Regional Vice President Dr. Charles Spiekermann, and National Secretary Treasurer, Dr. Edwin Griggs. Eighteen students were initiated as charter members.
